It All started as a competition

This project began as a class competition to design a logo and cover for SITREP, a literary journal published by Pikes Peak State College to honor military service members, veterans, and their families. My logo design was selected as the winner and features a shield containing Pikes Peak, an Air Force Jet (a nod to their Academy located in Colorado Springs), and a silhouette of a military family. Below is the tagline I also created. As the winning designer, I was then tasked with creating the full layout and design of the publication.

The Start of Something Beautiful

The booklet cover reflects the core mission of SITREP: to support the emotional and cultural transition from military to civilian life. The front features silhouettes of uniformed service members, while the back shows the same figures in civilian clothing — a visual narrative of transformation, resilience, and reintegration. This publication provides a creative platform for expression and healing, and I was honored to design a piece that represents such an important and personal journey for so many individuals and families.
